Classes are one hour and run every week, Monday to Thursday. Join any week: each month builds on the last, and your teacher catches you up.

Salsa

Intro to Basics

Your very first Salsa class. We start from zero and build one step at a time, so by the end of the month you can dance a full song with a partner.

What you learn

  • The basic step, on time with the music
  • How to hear the count in a Salsa song
  • Your first turns, for leads and for follows
  • Easy partnerwork: the cross body lead and the right turn

Who it is for

People who have never danced, or who have not danced in years. No partner needed.

Salsa

Fundamentals

You know the basic step. Now we make it clean and add the patterns you see at every social.

What you learn

  • Cross body lead variations and turn patterns
  • Cleaner spins with better balance
  • Leading and following with a light, clear connection
  • Short combinations you can use on the dance floor

Who it is for

Dancers who finished Level 1 or can already dance the basic step on time.

Salsa

Social Dance Lab

The class for dancing with anyone. Longer combinations, musicality and styling, practiced the way you actually dance at a social.

What you learn

  • Longer combinations and how to build your own
  • Musicality: breaks, accents and changing your timing
  • Styling for leads and follows
  • Dancing with new partners, not only your classmates

Who it is for

Dancers who finished Level 2 and want to feel good at socials.

Bachata

Individual and partnerwork

Bachata from your very first step. Smooth, romantic and easy to start, and you can dance it on your own or with a partner.

What you learn

  • The basic step and the tap on four
  • Side, forward and back basics, and the box step
  • Body movement that makes Bachata look like Bachata
  • First partner turns and a simple combination

Who it is for

Anyone. No partner and no experience needed.

Mexican Folklore

Ballet Folklórico

The dances of Jalisco, skirts and all. Footwork, faldeo and the joy of dancing to mariachi.

What you learn

  • Zapateado: the basic footwork patterns
  • Faldeo: moving the skirt with the music
  • A traditional Jalisco dance, learned in parts
  • Posture and presence for performing

Who it is for

Anyone who loves Mexican music and wants to dance it. Sneakers are fine to start.

Baila Babies & Toddlers

1st & 3rd Sunday · at Beyond Birth

Dance with your little one to Latin music. A gentle workout for you and music, movement and bonding for them. Two classes a month.

What you learn

  • Baila Babies, 9:30am: babies 1 to 12 months, worn in a carrier
  • Baila Toddlers, 10:30am: 1 to 3 years, moving with you, in socks
  • Easy Salsa, Bachata and Cumbia steps for parents
  • Songs, rhythm and play for the little ones

Parents and caregivers. No dance experience needed.

Good to know

No. Most people come alone. We switch partners in class so nobody sits out, and everyone learns both roles.

Any teal Level 1 class: Salsa on Monday at 8:15pm, Mexican Folklore on Tuesday or Bachata on Wednesday. The Salsa Beginner Special (4 weeks of Salsa for $99, Bachata free) is the easiest way in.

When your teacher says you are ready, usually after a few months. Level 2 comes after Level 1, and Level 3 after Level 2.

Anything you can move in. Shoes with a smooth sole for Salsa and Bachata, sneakers are fine for Folklore, and babies and toddlers wear socks.
